Skin, Tatoos and Black and White
What's intriguing about black and white photos of women with tatoos? This is the subject matter of a series of black and white photos taken by Wam Molina. He opened his exhibit last Oct 21, 2006. (ends November 6) entitled "Women and Ink". Each picture seems to narrate to the viewer the story behind each tattoo and likewise the story of the women who had her body tatooed.
I would have preferred that the photographer should have focused and magnified the tatoos themselves, but then again the entire exhibit would have lost it's meaning. The part were the tatoos were drawn and designed on the woman's body itself plays an essential part to the whole concept of why people have tatoos in the first place.A musical jam between friends followed the opening.
